Attachments
If
you order a "Gift-Print" sent to you
by e-mail, we'll send it as a PDF e-mail attachment.
IMPORTANT:
If you have very little computer experience and have no idea as
to what a PDF attachment is, you should order your print
laminated and sent by regular mail. Also, AOL
members should be aware that AOL blocks almost all e-mail
attachments and you might have to call them to ask where to look
for it if you don't receive it. (Or, have us send it to a friend
with more experience who would know how to open this type of
attachment.)
However,
opening them is easy and millions of people worldwide open these
attachments daily. They must be opened with a program called Adobe Reader.
Most computers come with this program already installed, but if not, you can
download it free at http://www.adobe.com/products/acrobat/readstep2.html.
When
you receive a "Gift-Print" by e-mail, open your e-mail program and
click on the attachment. When a list appears asking what program
you want to open the attachment with, choose Adobe
or Adobe Reader.
If you have any problem with the picture
not printing to the correct size, make sure that in the Adobe
preference box there are no boxes checked that mention the word
"compression". Always choose to print the document
full-sized and it will print perfectly.
Printing
Suggestions
"Gift-Prints"
are all designed to be printed on standard 8 1/2" x
11" paper. If you use glossy photo paper, the print will
look much better. If you plan on framing it yourself, you can either trim the unprinted white edges of your print or
leave it at its full size. If you leave it full size, it will
fit into any 8 1/2" x 11" document frame. If you use a
frame of this size, the print will have a
narrow white border around the edges.
If
you want to use a standard picture frame, the most common size
available is 8" x 10". To use this size frame, simply cut away the
white unprinted edges of your print and you'll be left with a
perfect 8" x 10" print.
Using
either size frame, you'll have a gift that looks elegant and
expensive, and one that you'll be proud to give!
